Melting COPPER with an Oil Burner
Video Demo
Since launching my home made oil burner for use in my foundry, a question I often get asked is can it get hot enough to melt copper.
Copper has a melting temperature of 1085°C / 1985°F so can a home made oil burner using ordinary, recycled vegetable oil really melt copper?
I decided to have a go... but the weather wasn't ideal and the foundry wasn't insulated as well as it later was... still the results may surprise you in this short video...
